On Thursday, the 10th of November, the World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) Summit in Conjunction with the International Conference on Community Development reached its last session, the Gala Dinner. The stakeholder model that was carried out at the gala dinner was the Hexa Helix Governance principle, in which the Government was involved in the Community Development discussion. This special occasion was attended by the deputy governor of the East Java provincial government, Emil Elistianto Dardak, the Summit delegates, and the speakers from the International Conference.

“I think the urgency and importance of Community Development are growing. And I think the power of the community is very important in the capacity building beyond what we can imagine,” Emil said.

According to Deputy Governor Emil, community strength is one of the Hexa Helix principles which have been proclaimed in many programs to build the ideal environment or situation that the community wants.

Furthermore, Deputy Governor Emil said that to activate altruism many processes are needed that allow discussion in academic forums. Thus, the power of society can be maximized.

“Hopefully with a conference like this WUACD, we can find out what can work and what should be avoided. Create data using the best available methodology so that the power of this community can be activated. Thank you,” he concluded.
