This year, the World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) held the executive board meeting at Thammasat University, Tha Prachan Campus, on November 13th, 2025. Enriched by the active participation of eight partners universities from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Australia, the event aims to strengthen the international collaboration among all WUACD member institutions, supporting the implementation of SDG 17 (partnership for the goals).

Started with the annual review, this initiative marks WUACD’s long-term commitment to measuring performance and mapping evaluation by looking back at its previous programs. For the record, over the past year, WUACD has successfully held various events in line with its mission to enhance the quality of community service initiatives and its dedication to expanding its global reach. Several key initiatives highlight this progress, including international community development, guest lectures, international joint conferences, and student mobility programs.

Moreover, this progress serves not only as a report, but also as a milestone for improving future programs. This is crucial in assisting WUACD as an association in determining a clear direction for the upcoming year (2026). By understanding what it has already accomplished over the past year, WUACD can better identify its priorities and strategic focus moving forward. In doing so, WUACD demonstrates its intention to solidify long-term partnerships and extend the positive impact of its programs.

Following the annual review, the Executive Board Meeting functioned as a strategic forum to map out and communicate these findings into a clear roadmap for WUACD’s 2026 programs. This transition from reflecting on past achievements to planning future initiatives ensured that the association’s strategies remain coherent, data-driven, and aligned with its long-term vision. Looking ahead, WUACD is preparing a series of enhanced and more collaborative programs, building upon the successes of 2025 while introducing new opportunities for academic engagement, community development, and global partnership. Further details will be officially announced in early 2026, inviting member institutions to take part in a more innovative and impactful year of activities.

The meeting concluded with a reflection session, during which participants integrated key insights, strengthened their shared commitments, and identified actionable steps for the year ahead. This closing moment also emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement and collective responsibility in advancing WUACD’s mission, while giving everyone a chance to reconnect, align their hopes for the future, and reaffirm their shared desire to broaden the association’s impact together.

Following the formal sessions, a welcome dinner was held to foster deeper connections among representatives. This session served as a platform to strengthen relationships, encourage open dialogue, and build a stronger sense of community across WUACD member institutions. It also provided members with an opportunity to exchange ideas more freely, explore potential collaborations, and reaffirm their shared commitment to advancing community development.
