WUACD Aims to Boost Innovation in International Collaborative Community Services through The International Summit of WUACD

The Interntional Summit of World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) has been held in Universitas Airlangga, November 28 – December 1, 2019. The Summit was attended by delegates from Kirklareli University, University of Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Thammasat University, De La Salle University, Royal University of Law and Economics, Murdoch University, Federation University, Asia University, Daffodil International University, and University of North Florida.

The Summit aims to gather expertises from different fields to construct a meaningful community services activities and research group to address problems that occur in the community. Not only does it affect the community, but it also affects the institutions because the international collaboration program will provide student and staff mobility for the intitutions. In addition, the commuity services activity is in line with the concept of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs’).

The Welcome Dinner, led by Ir. Tri Rismaharini, M.T the major of Surabaya, marked the opening of The Summit. On the next day, the welcome remarks was led by the Rector of Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., M.T., Ak., CMA, stating that WUACD could be the center of international collaboration for community services activity.

The community services site visit program of Pre-marriage Service System in Probolinggo Public health Center marked the end of The Summit. The program was in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Sri Sumarmi, SKM, M.Si and Public Health Office of Probolinggo.
