Welcoming a New Opportunity through the Partnership between Airlangga University and Griffith University as a Prospective New Member of WUACD.

On 12 January 2023, Universitas Airlangga welcomed a visit from Griffith University Australia. Organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the Consulate General from Australia in Surabaya named Fiona Hoggart came to be a lecturer in their event. At the event, she told stories about the placement of the Australian consulate general’s office in Surabaya and the relations and interactions between Indonesia and Australia before and after the Covid-19 pandemic. This event was attended by 12 students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Airlangga University and ten students from Griffith University Australia. With this event, both parties have promoted equitable and inclusive educational opportunities and encouraged all people to learn through students from both university’s lives.

In addition, representatives from Griffith University Australia also came to the WUACD office to discuss further Griffith University’s entry as a new member of WUACD. Welcomed by Dr. Pratiwi Soesilawati (Secretary/Deputy of WUACD) and Dr. Mega Moeharyono Puteri (WUACD Field Coordinator), both parties are looking forward to various collaborations and opportunities that will be carried out in the future. The Griffith University representative also said, “We learned so much from going through all of the information on the WUACD website and found a lot of opportunities to collaborate.” This collaboration may enhance the implementation and reignite the international alliance for sustainable development in the future for both academic parties.
