What a warm discussion it was in which all the participants took part at the issue shared about. The meeting was conducted because Al – Wali Foundation, The Netherland, paid WUACD a visit in which they would like to talk about dental treatment issue. Therefore, the meeting was conducted at Faculty of Dental Medicine, Universitas Airlangga.

The fourteen people of Al – Wali Foundation, which was led by Faisal bin Zahari, and the lecturers of Faculty of Dental Medicine had a meaningful discussion on oral health issue in several areas of Indonesia. From the discussion, Indonesia is one of country with low awareness of oral health.  The discussion mainly talked about the phenomena of oral health in Indonesia and The Netherlands, dental treatment for children and elderly, and sugar-free policy.

A group of Faculty of Dental Medicine students also took a part to give a presentation to all of the participants. They presented their community service project report and shared us on how to reveal a problem and solve it in the community.

After having an encouraging discussion, they had a mini tour to explore Faculty of Dental Medicine, so that Al – Wali Foundation members had an insight more about Universitas Airlangga.

”The discussion was very inspiring, and Universitas Airlangga is very well-organized in welcoming us”, stated Cigdem Demir.

The meeting marks a warm relationship between Al – Wali Foundation and WUACD Universitas Airlangga. Since we share the same vision toward community services especially in health issue, WUACD hopes there is another collaboration in the future.
