
From 26th October – to 9th November, Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Malaysia Terengganu initiated a collaborative program on student exchange. This program is held in two places, Surabaya and Banyuwangi. Starting with the Universitas Airlangga Campus Tour, bring the students to know more about the university. The program started to be done by doing several activities in the faculty of pharmacy, faculty of social and political sciences, faculty of psychology, faculty of science and technology, and also SIKIA.

During the SIKIA tour at Banyuwangi, the students visit Savana Sadengan which can encourage students who learn biology to observe the animals and also the plants. They also visiting Pengelolaan Penyu Semi Alami (PPSA) at Pantai Ngagelan while also snorkelling at Pulau Tabuhan. Furthermore, on doing community development at Pulau Santen, they get experience in ecobrick, greenhouse and also statue building. While enjoying the experience the most, enjoying traditional snacks such as nagasari, onde-onde, apel corong and nasi pecel completed their day.

Throughout the exchange, students participated in a lecture session. The programs are packed so the students can get the most out of the program. The lectures are talking about introduction to negotiation, Indonesian cultural heritage and community, understanding about cultural connection communication for example on how to differentiate every region in mourning. Continuing at the faculty of psychology, students can experience designing a game for children to improve their thinking ability, they continue to observe the children at PAUD for their behavior and activities. Not only that, they learn together at UPT ABK with children that have special needs. At the end of the day, they learn to increase awareness about disaster psychology and education in disaster management.

During the visit at the faculty of science and technology, they visit Desa Jambangan where they are enjoying ice cream that is made from pakcoy, making cookies, and learning how to recycle. They also visiting kebun raya mangrove Surabaya to plant a mangrove. The days end as followed by going to souvenir stores.
The exchange objective is creating output in line with the SDGs, precisely with SDGs 17 (Partnership for the Goals) and SDGs 4 (Quality of Education). Through a program outcome, they learn about understanding the cultural connection between Indonesia and Malaysia.
