About Program
Issues in the fields of economy, education, health, and gender have caused the development of human resource capacity in Indonesia to be uneven. Empowerment programs are needed to improve the economy evenly and overcome social problems. Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) are the issues that needs attention to provide access to a decent life for women and marginalized groups. One of the focuses of GEDSI’s activities is to empower women, marginalized groups and disabilities by increasing their skills and capacity in various sectors, especially the economic sector. Especially during the economic recovery period after the Covid-19 pandemic which has impacted the world economy, it is necessary to conduct community development programs to increase economic activities and empower the community. The GEDSI Summer Program which will be held by FISIP UNAIR in collaboration with the World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) is one of the activities to facilitate student activities in women’s empowerment and business development activities. The targets of this activity are Airlangga University students, international student, the women groups in Gresik and Bojonegoro, East Java, and collaboration partners from Tirta Ayu Spa and Gresik Women’s School. The aim of this program is to engage students, business world, and other stakeholders to empower women in developing entrepreneurship skills and spa businesses. This activity will be carried out offline, online and hybrid at Airlangga University Surabaya, Wringinanom Gresik Women’s School, and Tirta Ayu Spa Bojonegoro.
