On Friday, July 7th, following the 2023 WUACD Board Meeting held by Prince of Songkla University, the WUACD Scretariat visited Singhanakhon Wittayanusorn School. Singhanakhon Wittayanusorn School is an Islamic school under collaboration with Prince of Songkla University, Songkhla Province, Thailand. It is a private school with no charges for its students, making it accessible to all socioeconomic classes. The initiative established by Singhanakhon Wittayanusorn School, which provides free education to all students, is in line with the fourth SDG, Quality Education, which aims to guarantee inclusive and equitable quality education and encourage lifelong learning opportunities for everyone.
Through the free education that Singhanakhon Wittayanusorn School promotes, the school encourages the idea of improving the quality of people in Thailand by providing equal access to education, which is one of the essentials that can be a way to enhance their quality of life. Furthermore, the school’s dedication to enhancing students’ quality of life can be evident in the way the school offers nutritious meals and time for kids to nap in the afternoon. These two factors contribute to the school’s efforts to improve the kids’ living quality since both activities are beneficial for the student’s growth.
The school also has international partnerships with several universities in Malaysia and Indonesia, offering university students opportunities to teach school subjects while learning about the local wisdom of Southern Thai society. This opens up a valuable opportunity for the WUACD Networks’ student mobility program in the form of a Summer Program. It provides a unique and immersive learning experience, allowing students to engage with local communities and diverse cultures.
