Following the opening ceremony that was held in ASEEC Tower Universitas Airlangga as a sign of the beginning of the Go East Java program, students from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia were taken around Universitas Airlangga campus B. On this ocassion, they were taken to take a look at the facilities available at Universitas Airlangga B campus. They had the chance to see several faculty buildings, such as the Faculty of Social and Political Science, Faculty of Humanity, Faculty of Economy and Business, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Vocational. The exploration did not stop because of the Universitas Airlangga’s resources; participants were introduced to collective spaces such as the Anthropology Museum, Canteen, and Amphitheater. This activity also brings the objective to introduce the Universitas Airlangga’s priority on protecting the environment with a green campus, showed by the walking route in Universitas Airlangga, in line with SDG number 7, which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. In essence, the first-day activity gives the chance to know the barriers to knowledge of the partnership.
Beyond the obvious benefits to the local populace, the Go East Java initiative exemplifies Universitas Airlangga and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s considerable dedication to international cooperation and sustainable development. In addition to improving educational experiences, this relationship encourages participants to develop a feeling of responsibility and global citizenship via engaging students and staff in practical, hands-on projects. Moving forward, we aim to build upon the success of Go East Java, expanding our collaborative efforts to address pressing social and environmental challenges in the region and beyond. Through continued cooperation and innovation, we remain dedicated to advancing the goals of education, sustainability, and community development for the betterment of society as a whole.
