trengthening Bonds: UNAIR and UTM’s Collaborative Journey in Research and Community Development

On August 27, 2023, Universitas Airlangga visited Universiti Teknologi Malaysia to discuss international research collaboration between the two institutions. Thorugh this collaboration, UNAIR and UTM will carry out cooperative initiatives in their respective domains, namely education and community development. Several UNAIR units and faculties attended the partnership, which collaboration with UTM research centers or faculties will follow.
Several units and faculties divided into three clusters from UNAIR, participated in this international research partnership. The first is the Health Science Cluster, which will work with UTM’s Institute of Bioproduct Development. Furthermore, UNAIR’s Life Science and Engineering Cluster will cooperate with UTM’s Research Institute for Sustainable Development. The last one is the Social Science and Humanities Cluster, which will work with UTM’s Fakulti Sains, Sosil, dan Kemanusiaan.

Moreover, on that day Universitas Airlangga with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia together with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Johor Bahru, carried out cooperative initiatives in education and community development for Indonesian immigrants in Malaysia. Representatives of faculties and units from both universities will be participating in the programs with different activities in different aspects. The aspects that will be carried out in the program are dental health education, infectious diseases education, reproduction education, mental health education, etc.

Furthermore, on that day, Universitas Airlangga, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Johor Bahru collaborated on educational and community development efforts for Indonesian immigrants in Malaysia. Representatives from both universities’ faculties and units will take part in the programs, with various activities in many aspects. Dental health education, infectious disease education, reproduction education, mental health education, and other elements will be covered in the future program.
