
A transformative experience in students is needed due to the indicator of a successful college, especially with strengthening the connection between students and campus. These reasons bring Universitas Airlangga’s partnership with Hiroshima University and WUACD to prove the ability of effective learning with visitation and comparative bases. The program which was held from July 12th 2023 until July 22nd, 2023, came with the objective of making remarkable opportunities for students from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy. The challenge to make an open door of knowledge to students was facilitated by Hiroshima University by offering some activities to support their research experience.

Starting with the Hiroshima University tour, bring the students to know more about the university in physics and direct. Moreover, they did have some Laboratory Visits with such experts from Pharmaceutical Science Practice, Genome Engineering, Pharmacognosy, and Neurochemistry. On these activities, the students were provided to try and see practices in the laboratory, as compared in their house still using simulation. Another activity with academic objectives was created with lecture class and hospital visit to know the real case of the study in Japan. The academically needed balance with non-academically, and this brings BBK Hiroshima University this year not just focused in the field of health but in entertainment following the programs. They visited a cultural night to Notre Dame Junior High School and Hiroshima University High School Students to promote intercultural understanding between communities.

The exchange objective is creating magnificent output in line with SDGs, precisely with the SDGs number 17 called Partnership for the Goals. From the program exchange meeting, the role of Dental Medicine and Pharmacy Students from Hiroshima having partnership with Universitas Airlangga, the partnership was built during the program to create a new connection to support the realization. The Notre dame Seishin High School visit was created in partnership with students from its school and Universitas Airlangga students, followed by Hiroshima University High School visit. The cultural night between Japanese students in that university with Universitas Airlangga provides a transfer of knowledge and cultural value by sharing local food with its own culture to local residents.
