After two weeks of cross-cultural exchange, immersive learning, and shared experiences, the FED-AIR 2025 program reached its grand finale with a series of impactful events that marked the culmination of cross-cultural exchange, learning, and shared experiences. The program provided an invaluable platform for students from both universities to come together, explore key health and social issues, and engage in meaningful discussions that deepened their academic and cultural perspectives.
The program’s final days were a fitting celebration of the hard work and dedication put forth by all participants. The visit to the Regional Secretary of Sidoarjo City underscored the importance of local governance in addressing public health challenges. It emphasized the need for collaborative efforts in shaping healthier, more sustainable communities. This was followed by a guest lecture and a panel discussion at Universitas Airlangga, where Federation University and Universitas Airlangga’s faculty members led insightful talks on the role of social media in research and the evaluation of social prescribing trials in Australia. These sessions highlighted the potential of innovative approaches to healthcare, especially in the context of public health and nursing practices.

The group presentations, which included students from various fields such as public health, nursing, and vocational studies, were a moment of pride. Each group shared its unique field study experiences in Indonesia, discussing its learning and challenges during its visits to local health facilities and community programs. This interactive session showcased the students’ academic growth and reinforced the collaborative spirit that had defined the entire program.

The closing ceremony, which took place at the Faculty of Public Health of Universitas Airlangga, was a heartfelt conclusion to the program. Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. dr. Santi Martini, M.Kes., along with representatives from Federation University and the WUACD, expressed their gratitude to the students, mentors, and faculty for their unwavering commitment to the program’s success. The event underscored the importance of international collaboration in addressing global health challenges and highlighted the lasting impact of such cross-border partnerships.

A farewell dinner offered students and faculty a final opportunity to reflect on the knowledge gained, friendships formed, and shared commitment to sustainable development and global health. As FED-AIR 2025 came to a close, it was clear that the program had not only deepened participants’ understanding of health systems and social issues but also opened doors for future collaborations and lasting connections between Indonesia and Australia. This year’s program is another significant step toward advancing international cooperation and pursuing a healthier, more sustainable future. WUACD is always committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from one program to the next. One of the most highlighted goals is SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals, where global issues can be addressed by collaborating with WUACD universities through a collaborative program such as FED-AIR 2025, where students from Indonesia and Australia are working together to create a healthier, more sustainable future.
