WUACD Thematic Summer Programs: How to Implement Maternal and Child Handbook during the Pandemic Era

The first webinar of the “Optimizing the Development of Children with Special Needs” series had just begun. This series of webinars is in collaboration with the Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Service, and Faculty of Social and Politics. The first topic was Implementation of The MCH Handbook in The Family and Health Protection for Children with Special Needs During the Pandemic and hosted by the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Airlangga. The webinar was held on July 24th, 2021. It invited five speakers from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga. They delivered new insights on the medical issue of children with special needs.

The first topic was delivered by Prof. Irwanto, MD, Ph.D., about Recognizing the Red Flags of Children with Developmental Problems. Then the explanation was continued by Mira Irmawati, MD, Ph.D., who shared her topic about implementing the MCH handbook in the family. Leny Kartina, MD, delivered immunization for Children with Special Needs. Since the topic of the COVID-19 pandemic was significant to be discussed, Implementation of Health Protocols During the Pandemic for Children with Special Needs was delivered by Arda Pratama, MD, and Rika Hapsari, MD. The moderator led the interactive discussion with the audience. Nouman Ahmad, a medical student from Sri Lanka, discussed the children’s health protocol in his country.
