WUACD (World University Association for Community Development) Universitas Airlangga had an honoured opportunity to fill a satellite program in ACN 2019. The program invited Bali Caring Community which brought children of ragpicker to us along with lecturers from Faculty of Public Health Universitas Airlangga and scholars from abroad. The program’s aim was to increase the public health awareness to the community since the congress was attended by academia and professionals around the world. It was held on 5 August 2019 at 5pm.

The program started with all the participants wearing a given batik. Then, the traditional dance and an afternoon view of the Temple Garden of Westin Hotel greeted the participants. The culture of Bali and the transfer knowledge to the community created a harmony within all of the participants. All participants were invited to dance together along with the traditional dancers.

“The people around us always put us, a scholar or a researcher, as a role model. Therefore, it is a responsibility for scholars, proffesors, doctors, and even students to have a high integrity which could help to empower the community everywhere they are.” Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Hardinsyah, MS, the chairperson of ACN 2019 and the head of Perhimpunan Pakar Gizi dan Pangan Indonesia.
